I wanted Black, Asian, white, all of those kids to look to me and see them see themselves in me.

"The goal is to have 5,000 of the most talented kids decide to become engineers every year," says Mr Karapetyan.

Shots of kids aimlessly throwing rocks at passing freight trains are plainspoken, presented with documentary-like simplicity.

But, having realised his ambition, he fears the next generation of working class kids are being priced out of Scottish culture.

"These kids absolutely love our school and it's heartbreaking. And where are our kids going to go?"
