"Officers followed a short time later, on foot, and gave first aid to the woman, who was then taken to hospital for treatment for life-changing injuries," a spokesperson added.

Thames Valley Police said a single shot was fired by one officer and Mr Joyce was given first aid, but died at the scene.

In the latest incident, paramedics quickly gave Phoebe first aid for her injuries, and she was rushed to the emergency room.

"Having the chance to go back to school, as well as learning midwifery and first aid, made her feel much better about her future," he adds.

As she frantically called an ambulance, neighbours and a private security guard heard the cries and rushed to render first aid.
