The Vitreous Humour.—The vitreous humour loses its transparency owing to exudation from the inflamed ciliary body or choroid.

It is supposed that the muscular substance of the ciliary body and processes changes, by its contraction, the inclination of the crystalline lens.

During the acute attack, the vitreous may become slightly turbid by transudation of serum from the vessel of the ciliary body and the chorioid and may become filled with fibrin.

The ciliary body comprises three muscles for its make-up and connects the choroid to the circumference of the iris.

The pupil, covered by the unabsorbed remains of the pupillary membrane, is occluded by a deposition of inflammatory substance, occasioned by inflammation of the ciliary body.
