Baros, of Bentinck Street, was disqualified from driving immediately after entering his guilty pleas to two counts of causing death by careless driving.

Thompson, of no fixed abode but previously of Bentinck Street in Newcastle, was in the public gallery in courtroom 10 when he took three pictures of his brother, also capturing two 18-year-old co-defendants and a dock security guard.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Bentinck Road on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody.

The court heard Latham, 32, of Bentinck Close, Ollerton, drove Mr Johnson and Bella down to the river on 6 January 2020, but did not know of his intentions, and she "pleaded with him" not to do it.

The court also heard that after the attack Nimmo drove off in Mr Clelland's van before abandoning it in nearby Bentinck Square in Galston.
