The film is stylish and intelligent, but what’s most impressive is that it trusts its audience; there’s no hand-holding, or overexplanations of its narrative to water down its themes into palatable baby food.

“It was a super overwhelming volume of posts—just like sifting through hundreds of messages, some about baby clothes, some about baby food, products on offer, advice. And I just wanted to find someone who shares values with me about child care,” she said.

A new California law will now require baby food manufacturers to disclose to consumers how much lead, mercury and arsenic is in their products.
